As cold pressed oils are extracted using traditional methods, without using any heat or chemicals, the process to extract the oil takes longer time and the yield is much lesser as compared to the refined oils, they are more expensive than the refined oils.

Why are the cold pressed oils not clear but have particles in it?
Natural sedimentation or cloth filtering is used and no chemicals are used in order to filter the extracted oil. Hence, a cold pressed oil contains some particles from the seeds it is extracted from, which also gives a natural aroma to the oil.

Which oil should be used in daily cooking?
Several oils like coconut oil, groundnut oil, safflower oil, sesame oil etc can be used for cooking for different kinds of cuisines and cooking styles. Instead of using only one kind of oil, using different types of oils for cooking is recommended.

Can the cold pressed oil be used for deep frying?
The only cold-pressed oils that can be used for deep-frying (but only once) are Groundnut or Safflower or Coconut oil (Coconut oil is resistant to oxidization), because they have a boiling point at 160 °C and smoke point at 230 °C.

Can the cold pressed oil be re-used after used for deep frying?
We DO NOT recommend reusing of the oil. Because any oil that is exposed to oxygen and moisture at more than 180 °C for more than 1 hour starts oxidisation. When the oil is reused, it reaches the smoking point faster than the earlier time it is used; hence degrading the quality of the food, it is cooked in.

Cold pressed coconut oil and sesame oil can be used for oil pulling. Oil pulling is a practice of swirling oil around your mouth and then spitting it out. Oil pulling done with cold pressed coconut oil and sesame oil helps in killing harmful bacteria, reducing bad breath, preventing tooth cavity and reducing inflammation of gums.
